FitFood Ireland Review

Hi ladies,

As you may know, I had my first baby 9 weeks ago now, and had mentioned that I wanted to get my diet and exercise back on track. Being a new mum and working hard on my blog, means I have little time to stop and prepare healthy meals for the week. I found myself skipping lunch as I simply didn't have the time to prepare something tasty. I was turning to coffee to fill me until dinner time when I would sit down and eat with my partner.

My energy levels started to drop, as I was not making sure to fuel my body regularly. When I heard about FitFood Ireland, it sounded like the perfect solution to my diet problems.

FitFood is a meal delivery service, preparing paleo lunches and dinners for the week ahead. The meals are all booked on the day of order, freshly frozen and delivered to your door. For someone like myself, who loves tasty food but is a brutal cook, it is the ideal solution.

My meals were delivered on Sunday, and I got 5 lunches, and a treat box for the week.

My lunches -
- Thai Green Curry with Cauliflower rice.
- Sweet Potatoe Sheppards Pie
- Steak Burger, onion rings and chips with FitFood sauce
- Chicken Kiev with roasted balsamic vegetables
- Chicken courgette noodles

The meals arrived packed and frozen, so I popped them into my freezer. All you have to do is take out your meal for the following day, 24 hours before you plan to eat it. Each day, I would microwave my lunch for 5 mins and that's! So easy, and so tasty. I was concerned that there wouldn't be much flavour to the meals, after being frozen and reheated, but I can safely say each meal had so much flavour and I finished every one.

I also got a treat box, which is ideal for someone like me who has a sweet tooth and loves a sneaky treat with my tea after dinner. The treat box contained a mix of healthy snacks like chocolate brownies, mint chic chip cookies, carrot and walnut muffins, coconut bites, snickers and the INSANELY tasty peanut fudgeroos (my new obsession!!) All of the treats are gluten, dairy and suger free, so you can enjoy them guilt free!!

After a week of eating the helathy lunches each day, I found I had so much more energy and didn't rely on coffee to give me a midday boost. They are absolutely ideal for anyone who is stuck for time, but is health conscious. Or if you are useless in the kitchen like myself, but love tasty, too quality food, then this is the way to go.

You can check out more about FitFood Ireland on their Facebook page or their website

Happy healthy eating,

Get The Look : Contour Love

Hi ladies,

Apologies for the lack of posts on my blog recently. Moving to a new apartment and finding the time with a newborn can be hard, but I am devoted to getting more posts up for you all each week.

I had a lot of interest in this recent look that I posted on my Instagram account, so have decided to do a product list for you.
I have always used Harmony blush from MAC as my contour powder, but have now found a new favourite.
One of my best friends is a make up artist for MAC and picked me up some goodies recently that she knew I would love. One of the products is a pro longwear blush called  "Baby Don't Go" and is my new favourite powder to achieve a chiseled look. It is very similar to Harmony, but definitely lasts longer, and has less of a bronzey tone to it, creating the perfect shadow for your make up.

The rest of the products used are listed below -

Face:
MAC strobe cream
Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Foundation
MAC Studio Fix concealer
MAC Soft and Gentle Mineralize Skinfinish to highlight
MAC Baby Don't Go blush to contour
MAC Peaches blusher

Eyes:
MAC Uninterrupted, Love Connection and Swiss Chocolate eyeshadows
MAC Dipdown liner
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

Lips:
MAC Stone lip liner
MAC Pro Longwear lipstick in Back To The Future

Thanks for reading ladies, and keep an eye out for my upcoming Youtube videos ;-)

Lots of Love,

Rosie

Welcome Baby Harry Peter Quinn

I cannot believe I am FINALLY writing this post.

Baby Harry Peter Quinn arrived on Tuesday 16th December at 5.59pm weighing 8lbs 15oz and measuring 54cm.

I can honestly say that it was the best day of my life, and in the last two weeks, my whole world has changed for the better. I have had many questions regarding my delivery story etc so i will try and give you all as much details as I can.

My waters broke at home at about 8.30am on Tuesday, after a week of slow labour and constant back pains. When my waters broke, I had no contraction pains, so after calling the hospital, I decided I would take my time, have a shower and blow dry my hair (stupidly thinking it was possible to look somewhat glamorous during labour - I was wrong!!)
By the time I had my shower, the contractions were coming every 4 minutes, so I knew I needed to get to the hospital asap.
We arrived at the hospital at 11am, and I was brought straight into the emergency room to be examined. I immediately started on gas and air, as the pains were coming so quickly and I was not getting much of break in between. I was already 3cm dilated when the doctor examined me, so I was brought straight to the labour ward to meet my midwife.

To be honest, I don't remember entering the labour ward, as I was in a wheelchair and pretty high on the gas and air, so had my eyes closed trying to focus on getting through each pain.
The minute I met my midwife, I asked for an epidural, as I was struggling with the contractions. I had the epidural done, but unfortunately it didn't work first time around. After an hour waiting on this epidural to kick in, the midwife called for another anaesthetist to put in a second epidural. At this stage I was totally fed up and the pains were becoming unbearable, but the minute the second epidural went in,I could feel the relief, and the contraction pains slowly started to ease off.
After about an hour I was examined again, and was 10cm dilated, so I was ready to deliver. The midwife advised that I should wait an hour before pushing, to allow baby to naturally come down slightly, and to give myself a rest before I had to push. They agreed to start pushing at 5pm, but by 4.40pm, the epidural was wearing off and the pains were coming fast again, so I asked to start pushing.

After a long hour and twenty minutes pushing, my not so little baby arrived. When he was placed on my chest, I couldn't get over the size of him, but was in awe of how perfect he looked. His big eyes looking up at me, his golden hair and perfect pouty lips. I was instantly overwhelmed and cried my eyes out, in awe of him, and what I had just been through. Both myself and Paul just sat and stared at him, crying with happiness. From that moment, I realised my whole world had changed forever, and I was now this amazing little boy's Mum.

The past two weeks of have been the best weeks of my life. I cannot describe the feeling of love and admiration I have for my son, and how scary it is to love such a tiny little human being as much as I do. I already know I would give up my life for him, and will do everything in my power to make him the happiest boy on the planet. Myself and Paul have spent the past two weeks just staring at him, watching every move he makes.
Motherhood has already been the most amazing experience of my life to date, and I am envious of any mum to be, who gets to experience everything for the first time. You are in for the most overwhelming feelings of love and content. I feel like I have changed so much as a person in a matter of days, and everything I do is now with my son's best interests at heart.

It is finally time to say goodbye to 2014. It will always remain the most magical year of my life, and I look forward to spending 2015 with my new little family.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has supported me this past year, and I look forward to an exciting and fun filled 2015 here on Hearts, Heels and Handbags (and Harry!)

Happy New Year to you all,

Love always,

Rosie, Paul & Baby Harry

How I Style My Hair - Tips and Tricks

Hi Ladies,

Sorry for the lack of blog posts this week.. I have been busy getting all the final things ready for my little man's arrival, and trying to rest in between!

Many of you have asked how I style my hair and what tools I use, so here is a quick update on what I have been reaching for lately.

As you know, I have Hotloxs Hair Extensions in my hair, which makes styling my hair a lot easier, as I feel like the extensions hold a style a lot better than my natural hair.
I have my hair curled or waved 99% of the time, as I prefer this look over straight hair.

I tend to wash my hair every 2-3 days. I wash my hair in the morning, blow dry it straight using this pro hair dryer from Peter Mark.

For everyday waves, I either style my hair with the Instyler or with the Babyliss Pro Ceramic Tong in 38mm.

I find the Instyler great for creating a loose wave or flick on the ends of my hair, which is perfect for daytime as it is quick and looks natural too.

If I want more of a full curl, I will use the Babyliss Tongs. This gives a large loose curl, so for daytime, I curl my hair, spray with a little hair spray and brush them out.

For night's out or events, and when I have time to get ready, I curl my hair, and pin each curl while it is still hot. Wrap the curl around your finger, and pin to your head using a bobby pin. Leave for as long as you can.

I generally do this before I apply my make up, as once my make up is done and I am dressed, I can release each curl for a full, big voluminous look that will last all night.

On days when my hair is not freshly washed, I will spray with a little dry shampoo, and either leave it down and throw on one of my many hats, or tie it up in a messy high ponytail.

I hope this helps some of you out, and be sure to check out the special offer on the Instyler, available on www.Instyler.ie

Lots of Love,

Rosie

My Hair Extensions : Hotloxs Review

Hi Ladies,

I hope you're all having a nice Sunday evening. Apologies for the lack of blogging lately. I have been busy working on some upcoming projects, and getting everything ready for "D-Day"!!
I always get asked about my hair and what hair extensions I use, so I think its best that I do a post to answer all of your questions in one place.

I have been wearing hair extensions on and off since I was around 16 years old, so it is safe to say I have tired and tested a lot on the market. From clip in extensions to pre bonds and microbeads, I have gone through many heads of hair!

I discovered Hotloxs Extensions about 4/5 years ago, when the owner, the amazing Anna, was working from her car, driving to clients houses day in day out. To say I was impressed with the quality of her work and of the hair itself is an understatement. Since then, I have never used another brand. I took a break from the pre bonds, and went for Hotloxs clip in extensions for a few months too. It's great to have the option, but I have reverted back to the pre bonds again in the last two years.

I am sure you have all heard the horror stories of girls' hair being destroyed from extensions, but I can honestly say, if you look after them correctly, and have them maintained regularly, you should not have that problem.
I have my extensions maintained every 6-8 weeks, getting a quick top up if I feel I need it, and then have a brand new set put in every 3-4 months. Even when I pop in to have my new set applied, the current hair extensions are always still soft and in great condition.

How I maintain my extensions -

I generally wash my hair every second day. I know this is a lot for some girls, but I just love the feeling of having freshly washed hair. I wash my extensions as I would my own hair. I know there are a lot of brands who do "hair extension friendly" shampoo and conditioners, but to be honest, I just use regular products or whatever is on special in Boots that week!! I have never been fussy about my shampoo or conditioner, and my hair has never suffered because of it.

I shampoo once, and then apply conditioner to the ends of my hair and leave for a few minutes. I then rinse my hair thoroughly and towel dry as soon as I get out of the shower.
My 'must have' with extensions is the Tangle Teezer. This is the only thing I have found that stops me getting any matting. Since using the Tangle Teezer, I have not had even one extension become matted, and it doesn't hurt your head or scalp either.

I will comb through my hair with the Tangle Teezer, and then proceed to blow dry my hair, using a round brush to lift the roots. Make sure to turn the hair dryer to a cool setting when drying the bonds, so that you do not allow them to become hot, as this may affect how long the bond lasts. Once my hair is dry, I usually style it using the Instyler, or a large barrel tongs.
I will always carry my Tangle Teezer in my bag, and comb through my hair throughout the day. I usually tie my hair up on the second day, and can happily say you cannot see any of the bonds when it is tied back, as the girls are sure to leave enough of your own hair around the edges to cover them.

The salon is based on Dame St, Dublin 2.  You can check them out on Facebook HERE to see lots of before and after pictures. They can also give you a quote for what you are looking for. They stock a high range of colours to suit everyone so if hair extensions are something you are considering, then be sure to check Hotloxs Hair out.

Lots of Love,

Rosie

My Pregnancy : The Truth

Hi Ladies,

I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday afternoon. I have had a nice lazy morning prepping mine and babies bag's for hospital. I am definitely hitting the 'nesting' stage, and can't stop rearranging things at home, and wanting to clean and organise everything I see!

Some of you have been following me from very early on in my pregnancy, and some of you are just recent followers, but I know a lot of my readers are either expecting a baby or have already had children. After a late night chat with my partner, and discussing the influence social media can have on young women, and the pressure it can put on you, I decided to write a post about the "real" side of pregnancy. I can only write from personal experience, but my own pregnancy has not been the easiest, on me or on those close to me. By flicking through my Facebook page or Instagram account, it may appear that I have everything under control and that I am breezing through pregnancy, which is certainly not the case. I feel it is only right to let you in on the not so glamorous side to my pregnancy, and how I have over come the hard days over the last nine months.

The early days after finding out we were expecting a baby were an absolute blur. Initially, I was totally shocked, scared, anxious and excited all at the same time. It is such a hard thing to explain, but for anyone who has been there, I am sure you understand how difficult those first few weeks are. I felt immense pressure to be absolutely over joyed, as I know so many people would do anything in their power to become pregnant, but that wasn't how I truly felt. How was I going to look after a tiny little person for the rest of my life? Would I be any use as a mother? Would the baby be healthy and happy? What about my career? The questions I put to myself on a daily basis were endless. Having suffered from anxiety in the past, it is safe to say that this massive milestone in my life triggered my panic attacks big time. I can honestly say, that without the support of my partner Paul, and my amazing family and friends, I don't think I would have been able to take control of my anxiety the way I have. There were days I just sat and cried my eyes out, unable to comprehend the enormity of what was ahead. Other days, I was so excited to start a family, and become a mum to a beautiful little baby. These mixed emotions continued well into the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy, and still raise their head every now and then. I know pregnancy hormones play a big part in this too. The only thing that helped me feel better was to talk it out with people you trust. Just having someone there that you can be honest with, who you feel comfortable to tell your biggest fears too, is the best therapy out there.

On top of the emotional stress I experienced in the early days, I also had severe morning sickness for over 20 weeks. I am talking throwing up more than 10 times a day, not being able to keep any food or water down, and feeling absolutely horrific, day in day out. This took its toll on me massively, and there were days it was impossible for me to see any positivity in being pregnant. I know thats a bold statement, but that is how I truly felt. How was anything worth this level of sickness and stress? It put a lot of pressure on myself and Paul too, as you can imagine how hard I was to be around. When we met, I was always full of laughs, smile and positivity, and all of a sudden I was grumpy, snappy, negative and very draining to be around. Luckily, he was so supportive and understanding. Day in, day out, he did his very best to just get one smile out of me, or cheer me up as best he could. I know pregnancy is very tough on women, but I admire the men out there who have the patience to support a pregnant women, because if you were anything like me, then its not an easy task.

After getting through the tough days of morning sickness (or all day sickness in my case) I began to feel better and started to enjoy being pregnant. That was until, a few weeks later, I got sciatica and was in agony once again with hip pain. And you can imagine, it was back to square one, being fed up, exhausted, and generally very negative. I just wanted a break, to enjoy my pregnancy and not be in constant pain. Luckily, I got some relied from the pain after a few weeks, and was able to continue working, which was very important to me.

Now that I am 35 weeks pregnant, there are more symptoms of pregnancy that are testing my patience. I have spent nearly every night in the last week, sitting up sobbing my eyes out on Paul's shoulder, out of exhaustion and lack of sleep. My little man loves to wake up the minute I need to sleep, and continuously kicks and punches my ribs, making it impossible to nod off. I also have a bladder/kidney infection, so you can imagine how often I am needing to pee, again leaving me exhausted. Don't get me wrong, everything I have experienced so far in my pregnancy has been very normal and common, but I never had any idea how much it tests your patience and positivity.

Blogging has been such a great way for me to switch off and gives me something to focus on, but I don't want any of my followers to get the wrong idea about pregnancy, and think that it is all sunshine and flowers. The bad days are not something I would be quick to upload to social media, as I am sure no one wants to see pictures of my crying my eyes out at 4am, but that is the real side of my pregnancy. No one is perfect, and social media can fool you into thinking that people have the "perfect life" and are coping so well with something, when in reality, we are all the same.
I have bad days, ugly days, fat days, bad hair days and extremely negative days like everybody else.

I have chosen to show as much positivity on my blog and social media as I can, as it helps me to focus on the good things, and hopefully inspires you to try and look at your lives in a more positive way too. Deep down, I have never felt so blessed to have so many good things coming my way. I have a beautiful son who I get to meet in only a matter of weeks, an amazing soul mate and best friend to start my family with, incredibly supportive friends, and my 'rock' of a family who have been there through thick and thin, so the good days definitely out weigh the bad.

I hope that if any of you are going through a tough time, that you know you are not on your own, and it is so normal to have mixed emotions throughout your pregnancy. My best advice would be to talk to those you trust, and know that the dark days will pass, and you will smile again soon…

Have a lovely evening ladies,

Lots of Love,

Rosie

#AskRosie : Part Two

Hi Ladies,

As I mentioned before, my most popular posts tend to be the more personal ones, so I decided to run an #AskRosie segment, so that I can answer some of your questions that you were eager  to ask.

Here is part two for you all…

Where do you buy your maternity wear?

I get asked a lot about my maternity wear, and where I purchase certain items. I will be honest and say the only maternity pieces I have bought are a couple of pairs of skinny jeans from the H&M Maternity range. Everything else I have worn has been my own clothes, or from the regular section of my favour shops. My bump did not show until close to 6 months in, so up until then I wore my regular outfits, with the exception of the "bobbin trick" on days when my tummy was a little more bloated than normal. I wanted to get as much use out of what I already had, so I just took a second look at my wardrobe, and put away anything high waisted, or anything with a cropped finish. I will take them back out once the baby weight is off. I have found, now that I only have 5 weeks to go, I am living in my maternity jeans from H&M, and layering cardigans, knitwear, blazers and coats over a plain tight fit tank top (Penneys do a great selection!)

What is your skincare routine?

Ohhh I hate being asked this question, because it reminds me how bad my skincare routine is!!! I used to be so good, and used Dermalogica products religiously, but I have become so lazy about my routine lately. Im talking a baby wipe alot of the time (bowing my head in shame!)
Luckily, due to my pregnancy, my skin has been looking great regardless, but I have made a promise to myself to start investing into my skincare a lot more in the new year. I have facials from the amazing Alice In Beautyland, and they really perk my skin up. I have also been using the Forever Living Aloe Vera skincare as a trial lately, and they are definitely giving my skin a great glow. When I get my ass in gear, and get a good routine under my belt, I will be sure to share it with you all.

Who are your style inspirations?

I find this a question I get asked a lot, and always find it quite difficult to answer, as I do not have any particular person who completely inspires me. I find most of my inspiration comes from everything around me, from street style, people watching and trawling Instagram on a regular basis. I much prefer to see how "regular" women style their outfits, as opposed to celebrities, who tend to be wearing whatever their stylist has guided them towards. I love looking on Pinterest and fashion blogs every day and just seeing how fashion is evolving all the time. There are plenty of styles I just love to look at, but as for recreating them for my lifestyle, I will take elements of lots of different items and make my own look with it.
If I am styling a photoshoot, the approach tends to be a lot different. It is more like art to me, and my creative side really gets to shine. Personal styling is very different to media work, as dressing someone for their day to day lives requires a lot more practical decisions, as opposed to what looks good in a magazine.

How do you manage to balance working full time, blogging and being pregnant?

I often get asked where I get my energy from, to work full time, and keep my blog going at the same time, all while preparing for my first baby. I never really saw it as a challenge to balance the important things in my life, as working and blogging are not a chore for me. I love what I do, so getting up for work is not the hardest task in the world. As for blogging, when most people are watching TV, catching up on the Soaps or reading, I am blogging. Every second of my spare time is willingly spent working on my Facebook page, my Instagram, my blog, and answering many emails I have received that day. It has never felt like a hassle or chore to me, and I would much prefer to be online than watching TV. I actually cannot remember the last time I sat down and just watched a TV programme. My head is always in my laptop, with YouTube playing in the background. That's when I am at my happiest! Luckily, I have a partner who gets it, and as he is very ambitious too, he's not the type to sit around and flake on the couch. Both of us have a lot of energy so it works for us. If he's not busy running his business, he is spending time with his son or in the gym, so our work/life balance seems to just work for us.
Obviously things are going to change when our baby arrives, but I am sure we will work out a great routine that works for our family.
Don't get me wrong, there are days when all I want to do is lay on the couch and do NOTHING for the day, and there are days when we have so much on, that we can both get cranky and fed up, but that is only normal, and days like that are few and far between.
I think the key to balancing your time is to do something you love, as it never feels like a burden in your life. It is also very important to take a night off and just give yourself some free time to run a bath, read a book, or go on a date night.
One of my favourite bloggers Hannah Maggs, has a "black out" night with her partner a few times a month. They turn off all laptops, phones and TV's and just spend the evening together making dinner, listening to music over a bottle of wine. I am going to start giving it a go, as my phone and laptop get so much of my time lately, that I think it is important to just switch off, take a break and spend time together as a couple.

So there you have it ladies, some more of your questions answered. I will do another one of these posts, as more questions come in!

Have a lovely friday evening…

Lots of Love,

Rosie

Review : Forever Living Skincare

Hi Ladies,

A couple of weeks ago, I was sent some gorgeous products from Forever Living skincare. They are all Aloe Vera based, and completely safe to use while pregnant.
I have heard great things about the brand so was excited to try them out.

My all time favourite product from the range has to be the Forever Bright sparkling Aloe Vera tooth gel. It contains Aloe Vera gel with bee propolis, and the great thing is that is fluoride free. I found from using this, my teeth have felt super clean and even squeak after I use it!! Your mouth feels super fresh after, without all the harsh chemicals. And it is suitable for vegetarians too, as it contains no animal by-products.

I've also been loving the Aloe Vera Lotion. It has a thick consistency but soaks in quickly, so you are not left feeling greasy or tacky. I have been using this after every shower, and have also been lathering it all over my growing bump as much as possible. My skin feels super soft having used this for a few weeks now, and It has been so gentle on my sensitive skin. Also, a little goes a long way with this lotion, so I am not even halfway through it yet.

Now, even though I was excited to try out all the products myself, a certain man in my life has also found a new love for them too. He has been using the Aloe Vera Heat Lotion on a rib injury he picked up during training, and has found it really helpful for the pain. Beware, this lotion is extremely hot (think Deep Heat hot!!) so I wouldn't go putting this all over, but it is great for muscle pain or areas of tension.

He has also been using the Gentleman’s Pride Aftershave, as a lotion for conditioning his skin. It smells lovely, and has a very smooth, silky texture, while maintaining a masculine scent. Again, he has told me it doesn't leave his skin feeling greasy, and as there is no alcohol in it, you avoid that stinging feeling of general aftershaves. He’ll kill me for revealing his pampering regime to the world, but it's all in the name of research!!

The last product that I have found I have been carrying around with me everywhere is the lip balm, Forever Aloe Lips with Jojoba. With the weather really getting cold lately, and the constant air conditioning in work, I find I need a good lip conditioner with me at all times, to stop my lips drying out. This one is super nourishing, and smells Devine. It is clear in colour too, so It leaves me free to apply my favourite lippie on top, without altering the colour.

So there you have it ladies (and gents!!)
If you are looking for a new Skincare range, that is natural and kind to the skin, look no further than Forever Living. They would also make a great Christmas present for family and friends too.

#AskRosie : Part One

Hi Ladies,

So, earlier today I asked you on social media to put some questions to me, and I would try and answer as many as could.
There was a wide mix of questions, so I have decided to split them up into separate posts.
I will keep my maternity fashion, style inspirations and anything else baby related to the next post.

What products do you use on your eyebrows?

I have actually done a full blog post on my eyebrow routine, so please click here for all the details.

Who does your hair colour?

I am slightly embarrassed to answer this one, with the current state of my roots. I am bordering on looking like I have a balayge colour in, so please excuse me! I am lucky as I have very fair hair naturally, so I get away with a good few months between each colouring. My hairdresser is Ronan Markey, and he is a genius when it comes to hair. I usually have a full head of highlights once or twice a year, and a half head in between these to keep the colour topped up. Ronan has his own salon attached to his house, and is based in Clontarf, Dublin 3. If you are looking for his number, please PM me and I will send it on. You won't be disappointed I promise you… no more hairdresser disasters, leaving the salon on the verge of tears when the stylist hasn't listened to what you wanted. You can check out his Facebook page here

What extensions do you wear?

I have been wearing hair extensions on and off for over 7 years now, and have tried plenty of the brands out there, but have been hooked on Hotloxs Hair Extensions the last 3-4 years. Anna, the owner of Hotloxs, is amazing at what she does, and the hair quality is amazing. I get the pre bonded extensions in a mix of two blonde shades to create a natural look. I have thin hair naturally, so I use them for both volume and length. She has a salon in Dublin City Centre with some amazing stylist working there, ready to look after your every need. You can also get Hotloxs extensions in clip in's too, if you are not ready to commit to the full head of bonded extensions. I find them easy to maintain, and wash my hair around three times a week. I use a Tangle Teezer to comb through my hair, and it works perfectly with bonded extensions, detangling the hair but not catching or pulling the bonds. I style my hair every day using the Instyler, curlers, hair dryers and straighteners, and the quality of the hair always remains immaculate. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Click here to check out their Facebook page.

What foundation do you wear for day/night?

I get asked a lot about my foundation, and again, it is something I have been using for years and never seem to venture from. For day time I use Revlon Photo Ready Airbrush Mousse in 030 Nude. It provides medium coverage and feels super light on the skin. The reason I love it so much is for it's staying power. When I am busy in work, I don't have time to be reapplying or powdering the skin so this is a saviour with my busy job.
For night time, or days when I have a little darker tan on, I will mix my Revlon foundation with MAC Studio Sculpt foundation in NC30. This is a gel based foundation, and I find it sits really well on my skin. It provides a heavier coverage, and definitely needs a little powdering, but is definitely a must for a flawless finish.

What do you use to edit your photos?

I have two apps that I use on nearly all my photos. Diptic and Instasize. I then use the Instagram filters to edit the quality of my photo's. I have recently been liking the look of sharpened pictures, so I usually sharpen most of my make up and fashion pics, which is done on Instagram.

What is your exercise regime and how do you stay in shape?

As much as I would love to tell you all that I am a fitness freak, I most certainly am not. I do as little as possible to stay in shape!! Growing up, I used to dance over 4 times a week, so I had a very toned body and tummy from that. Once I gave up dancing, my body just seemed to remain the same, even with little to no exercise. My late Father passed down his fast metabolism to me, so I have never had to worry about what I ate. No matter how much junk I ate, my body never seemed to change. I remained around 7.5 stone for the last few years (until I fell pregnant obviously!) I have always had a petite frame, so my doctor agreed that this weight was fine and healthy for me. About 2-3 years ago I began to listen to the constant nagging from my family about exercise and the importance of keeping your heart healthy, regardless of your weight. I have joined every gym you can think of over the years, but just never got into it, and find them to be very intimidating for women. I began to run, and took up pilates twice a week. I absolutely love running, and find it therapeutic and relaxing. It also toned up my legs and bum very quickly. I took the Reformer Pilates classes at the Pilates Centre, Dublin 3, and this was the main exercise that really toned up my core area. My tummy changed shape completely, and my waist began to get smaller and smaller…such a great form or exercise for toning. Since becoming pregnant, I have to say, I have not done as much working out as I would have hoped to. I find with my job being so physical, by the time I get home from work, I feel like my workout is already done. I have weights for at home, and occasionally do some workouts on my laptop, or some yoga in the mornings. Running has had to stop, as it became too uncomfortable for me with the weight of my bump.
I plan hitting the gym hard once my little boy arrives, and am looking into getting a personal trainer to help me get back into shape as soon as possible after giving birth. I have gained very little extra weight so far in my pregnancy, so it is more for toning up my body than for weight loss reasons.
I also plan on having my baby boy out on lots of walks, as I am spoilt with living right beside the sea, so have no excuse!

How long have you and your boyfriend been together?

I met Paul back in June 2013, and we have been stuck together like glue ever since. I had just come out of a long term relationship and had no intention of jumping straight back into another, but as the saying goes "When you know, you know…" I don't want to delve into too many details just yet about Paul, but all I can say is that he is a great partner, and is going to make an amazing father to our son. He is my soulmate for sure, and I am so blessed to have met him.

I think that's enough babbling from me for one night. I will follow up with 'Part Two' of my #AskRosie series in the coming days, so stay tuned…

Lots of Love,

Rosie

Style File : My Current Wardrobe Must Haves

Hi Ladies,

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend after all the Halloween antics! I can't lie, for me Halloween is just in the way of Christmas so I am glad to see the back of it, and super excited to see all the Festive decorations and gifts starting to creep in…only 53 more sleeps!

Anyway, back to fashion. I have had a lot of you asking me about my current staple pieces in my wardrobe, and where to purchase them so decided it would be easier to put it all in a post for you.
I am nearly 34 weeks pregnant now, so finding it harder and harder to style this ever growing bump. I also am at a point where I do not want to invest in too many items right now, as I don't plan on being this size in a few weeks time.

I am having to work with what I already have and just add simple basics to change up my outfits. It's super frustrating for someone who is surrounded by the most amazing clothing on a daily basis, but its only short term, and I plan on having a MAJOR shopping spree once I am back to my original weight.

Here are the pieces I have been living in recently, and links to purchase.
You will most likely be seeing lots of these items over the next 6/7 weeks but I promise you, there are plenty more outfit ideas to come when my little man arrives!

1. Nike Air Max Thea -

After wanting these forever, my boyfriend was so good to get them for me last week and I have been LIVING in them since. I am not one for wearing lounge wear or sports wear unless I'm going to work out but these monochrome beauties just go so well with so many outfits. They are so light on your feet, perfect for when I have been in heels all day at work. I love the idea of bringing some edge to a classic outfit with these. You can pick them up from Office for €110.

2. Black Ripped Skinny Jeans -

If you read my 'DIY : Distressed Denim' post, you will know that I have been obsessing over my black skinnies that I have customised myself. These are actually maternity jeans from H&M, but this can be done on any pair of jeans, regardless of the fit. Ad my bump is growing and growing, I find I am most comfortable in these jeans and have bought a few pairs to keep me going over the next few weeks. At €19 you really can't go wrong. They don't seem to be available online, but you can pick them up in your local H&M. For those of you who are not pregnant, but looking for the same style of skinny jean, without the hassle of distressing them yourself,  the Topshop Jamie Jeans are perfect.

3. Bobble Hats

This may seem like a strange one, but as the weather is getting cooler, and I am getting more and more tired as the weeks go on in my pregnancy, my days off seem to be filled with lots of easy to wear dressing. A bobble hat is my perfect excuse for not doing my hair on a lazy day, but still adds a touch of winter style to an outfit. I have many different ones in my wardrobe but I am loving these from Penneys, and a bargain at only €5. I have it in black, cream and grey.

4. Knitwear

I have been living in all types of knitwear the past few weeks, from cardigans and ponchos, to fine knit or chunky polo necks. I find knitwear such a great staple, and teamed with leather pants can look effortlessly chic and stylish. I recently wrote a blog post on my favourite pieces which you can check out HERE. My go to has definitely been a simple black polo neck. Pick one up in Zara for only €25.95

5. Black Lace Up Ankle Boots

I have recently started wearing my balck lace up ankle boots that I picked up in Office over a year ago now. To be honest, it was only when clearing our wardrobe space for the baby, that I found them and fell in love with them all over again. I have trawled the internet trying to find a similar pair for you as so  many of you have been asking about them. The closest I could find were these beautiful boots from ASOS. Mine are a wedge heel so that is the only main difference between the two. If I see anything that is even closer to the ones I have, I will be sure to update you all…

As you can see, these are just the key staple pieces I have been running to the past few weeks. It is also very clear, my monochrome obsession is still in full force!!

Happy Shopping Ladies,

Lots of Love,

Rosie
